Counting Crows and More Great hair!

Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz dreaming of a new look by Rasta Girl
If music does not automatically begin, please scroll down to the bottom of the page to the jukebox.
"HEY TORY!" I heard Mela holler across the Ring Toss game where you can win a goldfish in a sandwich bag full of water.
COME HERE! HURRY! I trotted over to her and she grabbed my arm. "Guess what?", she was grinning from ear to ear. "Counting Crows is playing for free on the small stage over near the Ferris Wheel!". "WHAT?...OMGAWD..

WHEN", I almost fainted. "NOW!", Mela grabbed my hand and we tried to run as fast as we could without spilling our Fat Tire beers.
I love Counting Crows. When Autumn comes to the mountains and nature begins to settle down for a long quiet Winter, there is something comforting and melancholy about the voice of Adam Duritz, and music that emanates from the band. Sometimes I just like to sit on the deck an look out at the changing aspen trees and listen to "Round Here", or "Hard Candy". It is a calming thing for me. But in concert...well calm is NOT one of the feelings that come across me. LOL.
Mela and I arrived at the big field in front of the stage just as the crowd erupted into cheers. Mela and I joined in and Counting Crows laid into "August and Everything Else". If you have never been to see Counting Crows live in an outdoor setting, I can only beg you to somehow experience it.

Just one of the styles of Paccy and Lady Fire hair that looks GORGEOUS on me.
You will never listen to music in the same way again. I could try to explain, but this is an article on hair and although Adam Duritz has a unique hair style, lets get back to the Hair Booths at the main festival grounds. (Be looking for an upcoming article on Counting Crows).
The concert was still going on when we decided to get back to the business of HAIR!. Whether it was the strong professional desire to get the job done or the fact that I had the munchies something fierce (the nice hippy boy at the concert was smoking something out of a pipe and I think I breathed some in by accident), we decided to head back to the booths at the main fairgrounds - stopping to grab some strawberry shortcake with extra whipped cream at the Foundation Charity Tent. It was on the stroll over to visit Doc Caius and Aylin Lady of Fashion House when Mela said, "Tory, I think we should shave your head". WTF.
As Mela grabbed my arm and steered me towards the White Wolf Studios booth she explained to me that after 3 years maybe I should think about a new look. "A NEW LOOK", I stopped walking and looked at Mela in disbelief. "Now wait, Tory... let me explain",

Tory bald goes beyond creepy to downright friggin scary!
Mela spoke before I could find the words to tell her how I felt about such a drastic move. "Just because we shave this actor, does not mean you do not have an actor that is how you are now before you shave your head on this actor, understand?", Mela explained. ???????.
"Uhm kinda", I answered but I was confused either by Melas logic or the funny pipe tobacco I ACCIDENTLY breathed. "Just trust me", Mela spoke reassuringly. "But first, let's stop over at Ice Kings t-shirt booth and get into something more comfy".
Ice King sold us some very nice tie dye cotton t-shirts and two pairs of basic off-the-rack jeans and we headed over to have my head shaved at the WWS booth. "I must be high or blonde", I muttered to myself as I sat down in the chair. "Or both", Mela laughed as Paccy clicked the electric shaver on and off as if to warn me that I was about to get Brittany Speared. I felt the cold vibrating sharpness of the buzzing machine as it removed three years of gorgeous blonde Tory. I almost cried.
Lady Fire could see I was upset and gave me a new hair style within seconds, and explained to me how to go from being bald to wearing any designers hair and back again. "Trust me Tory, this will make the Hair Festival a lot more fun", Paccy reassured me, and after giving them both huge hugggz headed over to the Fashion House booth of Doc Caius and Aylin Lady.

Aylin Lady and Doc Caius of Fashion House

We arrived at the Fashion House booth but had just missed (again) Doc and Aylin. hmmmmmph. The young sales girl who was attending the booth was very busy, so Mela

The Fashion House by Aylin Lady and Doc Caius
and I just browsed the new styles of Doc and Aylin.
Doc and Aylin have been absent from the fashion social scene lately and rumors are that they bought a Yacht in real and are anchored off Tahiti living the good life. Whatever they are doing, it certainly has not affected the wonderful hair styles they have become famous for.
While Doc and Aylin may not offer as many styles or colors as some of the other Designers, their quality and unique take on classic styles offers affordable glamour to all residents of Moove.
The professional Moove lady will love the auburn center part (top right) which barely brushes the shoulders while the plum shade can be worn in a rocker babe style (bottom right) or to a formal dinner at the Moove County and Golf Club. For the ladies who want to look elegant but understated, the formal dread style (bottom left) looks great on the dance floor or at the beach.
After trying on several looks, Mela and I said our thank yous to the sweet sales girl, refilled our Fat Tire beers and strolled over to Livids booth perfectly located right next to "Doctor Bonerippers Hospital of Horror and Snack Bar - just one of the four haunted house

Livid adds her unique urban style to the Hair Festival
attractions at the festival.

Livid
We were just tickled to see that Livid was indeed at her booth, and she was busy creating new items as her latest styles were selling out.
Livid is known for a lot of things: an amazing eye for detail, a freakish ability to see beyond the ordinary and a level of technical skill that is hard for this fashion writer to understand.
Often, these accolades combined with her mega creations overshadows her lesser known products. Yep... Livid does hair and does it as well as she does everything else.
But if you are looking for simple fashion in a hair style to blend in - well you can forget about wearing one of Livids hair styles. It takes a secure and self confident person with a good understanding of who they are to look good in a Livid hair design. Like everything else Livid creates, her hair styles are not for everyone - which only makes them look even better on the right guy or gal.
If you are one of these self confident people who look fab in a Livid creation, you are sooooo lucky and blessed. Take a dive into the mosh pit in a Livid mohawk or shake the "Love Shack" in her modern take on the classic behive - these styles are unmistakingly from the mind of Livid. Look for the Haunted Hospital sign and follow the crowds to Livids booth. It could very well change your life. LOL.

Jess1ee's totally hot highlighted hair

Jess1ee
Mela and I sat and chatted with Livid for a while, and I even tried out a new Livid mohawk using the directions given to me earlier by Lady Fire. I thought I looked kinda kewl but Livid just shook her head and chuckled. I bought it anyway but decided against wearing it over to visit Jess1ee's booth just a few booths down from Livid.
Jess1ee is one of what I call "the Quiet Designers" - slightly reclusive, soft spoken and amazingly talented. Her designs cover almost all fashion areas and she does each with simple elegance.
A good example of this simple elegance can be seen in her highlighted hair styles. Using a deep red, Jess1ee takes blondes one step closer to perfection. LOL. While Jess1ee also creates basic but sylish hair styles without the pizazz, we here at the Crystal Angel fell in love with the highlighted look and are hoping and praying that Jess1ee expands this line.

Tory trying out a new C@ndi hair style at the Hair Festival

Jess1ee had already left the Festival for the evening after attending the Counting Crows concert, and Mela and I thought about sneaking into the closed booth to check things out but a big burly security guard with a scowl on his face strolled by, and we decided against it.

Black Widow
One style? That is all that the talented Designer Black Widow offers, so why even attend the Hair Festival?
Well, when you have one of the hottest hair styles in Moove - available in 26 of todays most popular shades and colors - there is no need to have more than one style

Black Widow's wind blown over the eye and over the breast hair style combines a faint dreadlock influence with the best "Texas Big Hair" styles now being seen in Houston and Dallas. Besides being available in colors such as Sunrise, Sandalwood, Crimson, Midnight, Honey, Emerald, and Melon, the unique over the breast cut allows the more daring Moove lady to venture out without even wearing a blouse. WARNING! While this style is safe for hanging out in windless Moove, caution should be used when venturing into Real as even a slight breeze can unveil your treasures for all the world to see.

Black Widow only offers one style but OH MY.. what a style.

Black Widow's booth at the Hair Festival is located just South of the "Creepy Crawler Roller Coaster" where she has all of her 26 colors on display. Black Widow also offers a small sitting area with a grill and makeshift bar behind her booth. shhhh, it is a secret.
One very important point when visiting the Black Widow booth - do not refer to her shop (UHU) as uh-huh. It is pronounced "you-who".

Rasta Girl
For anyone who may be wondering whether the Hair Festival is really a big deal or just some small county fair and carnival only need visit Rasta at her HUGE party booth on the East side of the fairgrounds bordering the warehouse district of Moove. Rasta who divides her time

The First Annual Hair Festival was sponsored by Club 177
in Real between snow and beaches dropped everything to attend the First Annual Hair Festival.
Rasta's booth is not really a booth, but more of a party zone with pool, a beach, a refreshment tent and dance area. The largest display of any Designer, Rasta's area offers separate booths for men and women, and has a staff of more than 30 stylists working 10 hours a day on avatars and humans alike.
This large area has caused some traffic problems and the whole Rasta "complex" was shut down for several hours for safety reasons involving the local Moove fire codes.
Rasta, who we have enjoyed writing about in the past, offers the longest braided pony tail currently available and her wonderful "pure dreads" and male facial hair allows the Moove hunks to look as unique and rugged as they so desire. Where Rasta really shines in this area is her ability to offer mens hair that compliments all skin tones, ethnic heritages and races. This allows our beloved community to reflect the true diversity that exists... oh yeah and it makes our Moove hunks even yummier than they already are. LOL.
Rasta also offers a head shaving tool for those that wish to go bald in the privacy of their own studio - unlike me. If you were created like I was and cannot just change out your hair and are not willing to have it shaved in public (like me) or in a Moove Salon, then you need this tool. Try out new styles and colors, grab a Livid mohawk, go wild or go mild - it is all up to you. IMPORTANT! Rasta is relocating her Moove shop and on October 1st many of her older styles of hair and other creations will no longer be available. Click Here to grab one of Rasta's creations before it is too late.
NEXT! The Grand Cutting, Angel Kiss Live and the Designers unveil the new 2010 styles.

Welcome Home dear Rasta!
