Internet Today - A rare medium well done

I am sitting here in the snowy real of Colorado
with my speakers turned up all the way while
chair dancing to "Bad Company's Feel
Like Making Love"...and for some crazy
reason, I really do. LOL. We only get one radio station in my town
and it is public
radio...talking and
yapping...all
about how bad the
world is, so I do
not listen
to it very often. I usually just listen to things on Playlist.com
which teaches me a lot about music. But I
am not jamming to Bad Company on Playlist.com...not
on anyones playlist widget, not on XM online..not
on an IPod .not in a box...not with a fox...I
do not like green eggs and...oh wait. That
is the wrong thought. Let me just get to
the point without any Dr. Seuss.
As I have grown up in Moove (and going from
a non-Internet 18
year old to a gorgeous,
almost 21, blond
diva-geek is growing up...trust me) I have seen many
great ideas started.
The Kit Kat Magazine,
The Pink Panther
Club, Beez, One Magazine
and even my own Ski
Resort and Ladies
Day
Spa are just a few.
Each required massive
amounts of work and
creativity, and whether
it was due to hackers
(as was the Beez
case)
or the realization
that "wow, this
is
wayyyy to much work
to keep going), all
are
no longer a big part
of our community. When I heard about an idea of a radio station
for Moove, I thought
it was a very good
one,
but I was a teenie
bit worried that
the humongous
amount of work to
pull together a global
radio station with
DJ's scattered all
over
the Earth woul be
too much to get done.
I do not know much, but I do know running
a radio station is more than just playing
your fav
tunage. It is web building, tech stuff,
design, marketing, personel, and a billion
other little things you just do not think
about. I know a bunch of hard working people
in Moove, but a RADIO STATION? "Come
on now... that is way too much work and responsibility",
I told myself. I had almost convinced myself
it was a "bridge to nowhere" type
project...but then I met Vabieon Shadow. Vabieon, along with musical guru Sir Dimitri,
took the great idea
of a world-wide community
radio station and
by working 20 hours
a day
for weeks, turned
it into a GREAT world-wide
community radio station.
I am hooked. Not only did these two wonderful people create
what will no doubt
become a music empire,
they recruited some of the most knowledgable and pleasant
DJ's s on the air waves, on satellite and on the
Internet.
Okay...so big deal. Some music lovers got
together and decided
to play music. Whatever. Yeah, maybe...but this is much bigger than
a few stoners sitting
in the basement playing
MP3's while watching
South Park. These
are
professionals. Plain
and simple.
From the sexy voice of my dear friend, Missy
to the classic jams
from the Spud Syndicated
Show to the hard
rock of DJ Rage to
the eclectic
rock mixes from DJ
Vince to.......LOL...it
just goes on and
on and on. With station manager, DJ. Kokane at the helm,
this team is taking
the Internet by storm
and online radio
may never be the same. So having the kewlest radio station is not
bad, but there is more. How many Internet
radio stations have a virtual place to gather,
where you can watch the DJ's, chat and make
requests? I am not talking about a okay chat
box...I am talking 3D, people, furniture,....
a real spot to gather and meet new friends
while dancing to Mix 944 FM?. Kewl, huh? But there is even more..can you even believe
it? This fashion writer is simply amazed
and frankly, in shock at the look, feel and
the interaction that the Mix 944FM web site
has been able
achieve in such a short time. With forums,
online music requests, and a totally eye candy layout....Vabieon and her team of designers are
the envy of even the web gurus at the Crystal
Angel. All we can say to the complete effort
is ENCORE...AUTHOR... APPLAUSE and stamps
her feets. WOO HOO! The best part of reviewing anything is giving
praise where praise
is due, and this
fashion
writer is heaping
it on Mix 944FM and
loving
every moment of it.
But, there is one
thing
I would like to maybe
see in the future. I would like to hear the smooth as silk DJ
voices just a teenie
bit more. They are unbelivably
soothing. What if
you made short ads for
local events, designers
or clubs in Moove.
You could even charge
CC's to help fund all
the parties that
rock and roll people have
- (yes, I have seen
WKRP and I was in a rock
band, so I know how
expensive those all-night
parties at the hottest
clubs in Moove can
cost). I am a huge fan of anything that brings our
community closer.
Here is a Christmas
recipe
for you: Take a bowl
the size of Moove,
throw
in some style, a
dozen or so warm,
friendly
hard workers who
love to jam, a web
site
I just cannot stop
staring at and incredible
tunage - blend with
the sweet sweat of
success
and stir it all up.
Add a teenie bit
of warmth,
some love, some speakers,
some of that other
stuff (I forget what
it is) and let sit
for
30 minutes....repeat.
hmmm, or is that
conditioner
for my hair...? Well,
you get the idea. I would like to really urge everyone who
has a dance club to install the Mix 944FM widget player on your house page. I would
love to see the same participation and energy
everyone in our wonderful community has given
to the Crystal Angel, shown to Mix 944FM. Turn it on, Turn it up, Turn it loud. Moove
Radio is here and here to stay! Be a part.
