From the backcountry to the Glitz of Vegas, we style out in luxury at the Mandalay Bay
and party with the Rose sisters
Don't forget to move your mouse over pictures
for a description After enjoying a wonderful breakfast of scrambled
eggs, pan-fried honey
ham and hot biscuits
(RayRad, Pagan, and
Ridgerunner cooked...can
you even believe
it) and sipping hot
fresh
ground coffee, we
strapped our skis
on and
said goodbye to our
little Cabin-in-the-Woods. By the time we reached the final descent
back into Heavenly Village, the snow was
falling in huge fluffy flakes. We took our time skiing back
down, chasing every stash of fresh powder
we could find, and doing some serious tree
bashing. The fresh snow muffled all the sounds
with the exception of the frequent whooops
of joy as a Moove resident caught some big
air or just missed a low hanging branch.
We were all still laughing and smiling as
we reached the base and turned in our Livid
skis to the ski rental shop. We headed back to Harrah's to check out so
we could catch Angel Two to Las Vegas, and
had a message waiting for us from the House
of Blues at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Mela made the call and after she hung up,
she told me that Angel Kiss had a impromptu
show scheduled at the House of Blues for
that evening. "Well, we better get a
move on", I answered and we rounded
up our group and headed down to Carson City
to the Airport. Once on board Angel 2, we settled down for
the short flight south to Las Vegas....well,
most of us settled down. The Rose sisters
(Catwoman, Princess Sherry, Dana Rose and
Sweet Jenn) were like kids going to the Circus.
It may have been that they were just really
excited, or it might have been the Bloody
Mary's we were all were enjoying. Either
way, by the time we got to Vegas all of us
were what you would called "primed".
We caught the Limo (actually six of them
due to the size of our group) to the Mandalay
Bay Hotel down on the Strip. We checked in
and found the rooms nice and pretty, but
not up to the standards of Angel Kiss, Moove
residents or a winner of more than 1.5 million
Casino dollars. Mela went back down and met with the Manager
and after explaining how totally important
a good review from the Crystal Angel was
for the Mandalay Bay, we were escorted to
a boutique hotel within the Mandalay Hotel
called..."the Hotel". LOL. We followed
our concierge through the Casino to a granite
entry in deep grays and earthtones. It was
very modern and absolutely up to the standards
Moove residents have grown to appreciate.
THEhotel at Mandalay Bay ushers in a new
model of understated luxury with its 43 floors
and 1177 suites and offers guests a haven
of sophistication and service on par with
the best boutique hotels in the world.
Its elegantly appointed suites and stylish
lobby areas set a tone of confident discretion,
while its carefully tailored roster of amenities
provide an unparalleled atmosphere for attending
to both business and pleasure. The rooms
are luxurious and totally styled out. Our
suite (741 sqft) was decorated in a sophisticated
palette of black, brown, and cream, which
exudes a modern contemporary feel. With luxurious
features like pillow top mattresses, down
comforters and enticing views from the floor-to-ceiling
windows, our suite is the perfect place to
begin and end our Las Vegas excursion. The
bedroom was huge with a separate living area
with floor to ceiling windows, 42” Plasma
TV, desk area with wireless and hi-speed
internet access, mini-bar, in-room safe,
and dual phone lines.

It really was more
of an
apartment than a
hotel room. I decided
if
I ever move to real
full-time, this is
where
I am going to live. Mela and I met up with Rose sisters, Auntie
Nymph, MysteryMan,
RayRad, Ridgerunner, Pagan
and Twisted and decided
on a quick lunch
at the restaurant
on the first floor...called
"the Cafe".
It was decided that
the boys would go
off and do whatever it
is that boys do in
Las Vegas, and us girls
would go the Spa
(named "the Spa")
and the Bathouse
(named "the Bathhouse").
I guess when they
built the hotel, it was
just easier to name
everything as what it
actually was. This
blond diva was mighty
glad about that.
No confusing names, dontja
know? LOL. We said goodbye to the Moove hunks as they
headed to the high
stakes poker room when
Auntie Wood changed
her mind and said, "I
have an itching to
go and play some poker
too, do you all mind?"
Of course we did
not mind, and we
all gave
Wood a few hundred
dollars to bet for
us.
"I am going
to clean those boyz
out,
" she said laughing
as she half trotted
after her "pigeons". The rest of us girls decided to walk around
the Strip for a bit and check out the fantastic
stores inside the Mandalay Bay (see side
bar). it was so very difficult not to just
spend - spend - spend after my big Wheel of Fortune win in Tahoe,
but I was reserved and only drove three sales
girls to insanity. I think my favorite was a store called "Cream"
with its fabulous
collection of Isabella
Fiore handbags, KingBaby
Studio jewelry,
and the Angel Fine
Candles with gothic
inspired
Swarovski detailing. Princess Sherry dropped a bundle of cash
at Le Paradis where she picked up several
rare pieces of Mirabelle bling. Dana and
Catwoman had to be physically dragged out
of TeNo, which carries a selection of ultra
modern, cutting edge styles of jewelry and
watches. TeNo mixes rubber and ceramics with diamonds,
sapphires, gold, topaz, wood, and pearls
with steel to design a unique concept for
the modern lifestyle and fashionable Moove
lady. Twisted's favorite shopping thrill was the
The Chocolate Swan,
and I understood
why
(being a chocoholic
myself). The Chocolate
Swan has perfected
hand-made chocolates
and
all-natural, entirely
hand-made truffles.
"We should have
come here first and
THEN bought clothes",
Twisted laughed.
"We are going
to have to go and
trade
up a few sizes",
she added while patting
her rump. I looked
over my shoulder
to see
if the indulgence
had already begun
adding
cushion to my once-firm,
Diva butt. We had our bags (and there were alot of them)
taken to our suites
and we headed down
to
the Spa for some
well deserved pampering.
The Spa Mandalay
is a 30,000 square
foot,
world-class spa which
has been created
to
ensure that every
detail provides you
with
an unparalleled experience.
Professional
staff, oversized
oak lockers with
includes
robes, slippers,
and towels, and
a dressing
area with vanities
stocked line of health
and beauty products. We each decided on the spa package called
"The Mandalay Day" at a price of
$450.00 per person - and when they say "DAY",
they mean it. The nearly five hour treatment
began with a 80 minute Chai Tea Mud Mask
followed by a 50 minute Swedish Massage which
my body needed so very badly after our skiing. Next came a 50 minute deep pore cleansing
and a 25 minute manicure and a 80 minute
hot stone pedicure (LOL..I know boyz are
freaking out right now reading this. They
have no idea how much work we do to look
as hot as we do). We then headed over to the Bathhouse for
a Brazilian wax and
an ultimate 50 minute
bath surrounded by
soft music, candles
and
waterfalls. All of
us could have stayed
there
twice as long, but
we knew that a show
was
coming up in just
a couple of hours
at the
House of Blues and
we grudgingly left
the
serenity of "the
Bathhouse" and
headed back to our
suites feeling more
than
just a little sexy
and special. Sweet Jenn called RayRad on her Boost phone
and heard a party
(or something) going on
in the background.
"Where are you",
she asked raising
her voice so it could be
heard over the noise.
"Uhm...at a show
called "Fantasy",
he sheepishly
said. Before Sweet Jenn could ask him "what
kind of Fantasy", Ray told her that
he had won the high stakes poker game with Auntie Wood coming in second and
Rider coming in third. Ray had beat Wood
with a pair of Aces against Woods pair of
Queens in the final. Sweet Jenn hung up the
phone and told us, "dinner is on RayRad
tonight, and order something expensive. I
made a note. We changed into our new outfits and met our
group up at "MIX"
the wonderful
restaurant on the
top floor. "I
bet
they don't serve
BBQ up here",
quipped
Mela as we entered
the pristine white
dining
room. The staff was
exceptional and treated
us as if we more
than just Avatars
from another
world. I enjoyed
a light dinner due
to the
Angel Kiss show (Free
Range Chicken, Fennel
Fondant and Shaved
Heart of Palm with
a desert
of Mango Chutney).
The conversation turned to what the boyz
and Wood had been
up to, and we were
delighted
to hear that they
had been given private
access to a high
stakes poker game
in a room
BEHIND the back room.
LOL. The buy in was
$20,000.00 per person
with a winning pot
of 1 miilion to be
split between the
top
five winners. Ray
Rad had won nearly
$500,000.00,
Wood came away with
$175,000.00, Rider won $125,000.00, MysteryMan did not
make the top three
but still walked
away
with $115,000.00
with the rest going
to Pagan.
Pagan explained that
he was holding a
low
straight and folded
when a pair of aces
came
up on the flop. "Wood
psyched me out",
he said smiling. After the game, they were treated to some
High Roller action,
given some cigars
and
cognac and tickets
to the erotic show
in
the Mandalay Bay,
called "Fantasy". Held in an intimate sized theater, beautiful
dancers and seductive costumes make this
show a unique experience for both sexes and
couples, The show is both classy and alluring while
showcasing incredibly talented (scantily)
clad performers. While Las Vegas is known
for its sinful roots, Fantasy has taken the
popular adult revue show to a hotter and
even sexier level (if that is possible).
Produced by Emmy-award winner Anita Mann,
Fantasy offers audiences the opportunity
to let their inhibitions go and experience
just how wild women"s imaginations can
be. Fantasy takes the show one step further
and with the direction of Cris and Eddie"s
choreography, Fantasy is now by far the most
captivating show on the Strip." Sherry reached over with her napkin and wiped
the drool off my chin. LMBO. We finished dinner and Mela and I headed
back to the room with Catwoman when we stopped
by a Corvette on top of a spinning platform.
Cat reached into her pocket and took out
a dollar bill and put it in the slot machine
that promised big winnings or..... a NEW
CAR. Yep, you guessed it, she won the Corvette
after just one spin. We congratulated Cat
on her new car, cracking up the whole time
over our groups good fortune and went to
the room to get into our Cheerleader outfits
and tune up our ENZOS. As Mela was putting the key card thing into
the door to unlock
it, she stopped and
said,
"You know something
we have not thought
about Tory - we do
not have a base player
and to tell you the
truth, I have not
seen
or heard from Tina
Maire (the Drummer)
since
we arrived in Vegas".
She was right,
I had not heard from
Tina Marie and I
had
gone totally Malibu
Barbie in forgetting
that Latin Princess
had left from Lake
Tahoe
to join the Americorps.
"I am not getting on stage at the House
of Blues with only
two of us",
I gruffly
told her. "No
way, No how, not
ever".
"Well, let me
see what I can figure
out - we still have
four hours before
the
show", Mela
answered sweetly.
Mela got
on her cell phone
and called around
Moove
looking for a Drummer
and a Bass Player.
I went to the BIG
bathtub and ran a
bubble
bath scented with
Gardenia and pouted. Well as always, Mela was able to solve the
problem (she is not
the CEO of TorLa
International
for nothing) by finding
Craftielady to play
Bass and Samantha
Sings for the ever-important
drums. Angel Two
was flying to get
them and
they would practice
on the plane. I was
now
even more worried
about the show and
our
ability to rock the
House of Blues crowd.
"Whatever",
I said as I dried
my
hair and continued
to pout. I think
I was
more tired than grumpy,
but at the moment,
I did not care to
self analyze myself. Two hours later Craftie and Samantha Sings
were in Vegas minus
one Cheerleading
outfit.
Mela assured me that
it was not the outfits
but our rocking all-girl
sound they were
coming to see. I
had my doubts, but
I was
not going to let
a great day at the
spa be
ruined by one bad
performance. Angel Kiss arrived at the House of Blues
just as the warm-up
band was ending which
meant we would take
stage after a 30
minute
break. Purrrrfect,
just enough time
to do
three shots of Jaeger....WOO
HOO...burp...WOO
HOO. We then took
the stage and started
with
our hard rocking
Jet Black Heart.
As the
final chords blasted
from the speaker,
we realized that not one person was clapping...or
even smiling for
that matter. WTF? We began to play "She Sells Sanctuary",
when a rolled up bar napkin with a half chewed
olive inside hit Mela in the face and then
shouts of ...BOOOO, GET OFF THE STAGE YOU
CARTOONS.....GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM......YOU
SUCK.....and other things that ladies do
not repeat. I could feel the tears begin to well up
in my eyes as I sang..."and the world, and the world drags me down, the world turns around...and the heads that turn, makes my back burn...", but I did not finish. A martini glass
was thrown from the crowd, then a beer bottle
(at least it was Imported) which hit Craftie
knocking her down; followed by a chair flung
upon the stage crashing into the drums that
Samantha was playing so perfectly............................................Continued Next Month
