Anyone who has been to Giggsy's Club downtown
over the past few months could not have missed
the renovation and construction going on
across the street in the historic Rose Petal building. Why all the gallons of pink paint? Was it
a new fashion boutique? The new ladies day
spa that has been rumoured to be opening?
A much needed waxing salon? Nope. It turned
out to be a brand new Club - and what a Club
it is!. One of the most enjoyable parts of being
a full-time Moove resident is getting to
venture to new Clubs, meet new people and
chat up a storm. The first time I saw the
Pink Panther Club listed on the Community
page, I went shopping for a new pink outfit
and cleared my dusty date book for the following
Friday. Meow. I decided on a lovely cotton and satin skirt
and blouse in pastel pinks (the Peachy design
from Angel's Boutique), pastel pink evening
gloves and matching stockings with off the
rack pumps in a light pink and white. I opted for the pastels instead of the more
shocking hot pinks of winter since I wasn't sure how
pink the Club interior would be. There was
no use arriving and looking like a part of
the staff on a lonely Friday night, and we
all know that it's best to tone it down when
in doubt. I arrived at the fashionable time of 9:30
pm and was greeted at the door by a hunk
of a doorman. I tried to pass myself off
as somewhat of a newbie since I was there
on undercover fashion reporting for the Crystal
Angel. The Club was already filling up quickly with
a wide range of customers with Aussies out-numbering
everyone else 2 to 1, which always makes
for a fun filled evening. The interior was not as shocking as I had
anticipated with black walls (thank gawd
they were not hot pink) and a toned down
cartoon feel - almost a cabaret atmosphere.
I felt at ease immediately. The Pink Panther is not exclusively a Dance
Club, although dancing is encouraged on the
spacious dance floor. The most popular activity
is getting all comfy in the oversized lounge
chairs and chatting. I met several wonderful
Aussies and spent the night dancing with
a local Moove Radio D.J whose name I will
keep secret (Moove ladies are always discreet)
and poofed home around 2:00 am. I called the Pink Panther owner K!tari the
following afternoon and arranged a meeting
back at the Pink Panther Club. K!tari greeted me at the Club with a body
guard who turned out to be my Uncle. K!tari
informed me that it was nothing personal,
but she always has an escort while in the
Club alone for security reasons. Wearing a black diamond studded halter and
a gorgeous silk royal blue swirl skirt with
thigh high black boots, K!tari was stunning
and fashionably casual. As we settled into the comfy chairs, Ki!tari
was apprehensive on the Crystal Angel doing
an article on the Pink Panther, mostly due
to her feeling that there are much nicer
Clubs in Moove and more experienced designers.
While that may very well be the case, I reassured
Kit that our readers are interested in all
aspects of design and fashion in Moove and
frankly, residents of Moove have been talking
about the Pink Panther Club. Kit began by saying she is not a competitor
to Giggsys, which is located directly across
the street and heaped praise on Giggs for
helping her get her Club up and running in
record time. "We compliment each other"
says Kit. The convo went quickly from dress codes at
the Club (with the exception of no weeners,
Kits says anything goes) to what is hot and
what is not hot in the Moove fashion world. Suprisingly, Kit says pants and slacks are
the biggest NOT HOT going now and showing some leg is major
HOT. The Military pant look (which I wear alot)
is NOT HOT while a nice tight fitting pair of jeans
is a maybe. Kit did think that black leather,
pants with a low hip hugger cut fell into
the HOT column. As we chatted it was easy to see why so many
residents of Moove have been popping into
the Pink Panther Club for intelligent discussion,
hearty laughs and a few drinks. Once K!tari
relaxes, the conversation flows like a fine
wine followed by a laughter buzz that will
leave you wanting more. The Pink Panther Club can be found on the
Community page. Click here to turn the page>>>>>
