About the Resort Update This Info
Mont Ripley is located in the scenic Houghton/Hancock
area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Mont Ripley overlooks Portage Lake and the
lift bridge. The hill has 24 runs that will
challenge all types of skiers and snowboarders.
We have tons of jumps and two terrain parks
serviced by a chair lift and a t-bar. Plans
for a new chair lift are in the works. With
250 inches of snow per year, there is a variety
of both deep powder and well-groomed trails.
Chalet includes first floor rental shop and
locker area, second floor has the Huski Cafe
and eating area.

Lessons & Instruction
We have a number of different lesson deals
to choose from. Our most popular is our Ski
or Snowboard the Ripley package. It is only
$37 for a lift ticket, rental equipment,
and an hour and a half lesson. Private lessons
are $25 an hour for one person, $15 an hour
per person for two people, and $10 an hour
per person for three people. Please give
us a call for other programs.
Racing Programs
The adult race league meets every Wednesday
night for eight weeks.
Recent Improvements
This year we have added several new trails
and areas that are sure to provide our customers
with a unforgetable experience.
Dining
There are a number of excellent restaurants
in the area. Quincy's is located three miles
down the road, and in Houghton some local
favorites are The Library, Ming Garden, and
the Ambassador.
Nightlife
Houghton is a college town with most nightlife
in the downtown strip.
Lodging
There are a number of chains including Best
Western, Holiday Inn Express, Super 8, and
Ramada Inn. Some local hotels are the Downtowner
and the College Motel.
Nearby Recreation
The Michigan Tech cross country trails have
recently been improved and are very popular.
There are many miles of snowmobile trails
in the area.
