About the Resort Update This Info
You won't find "adventure terrain"
on any trail map. Except Vails.
Front Side: You want variety? Bingo. The
front side of Vail Mountain offers a conventional
trail design featuring terrain for every
ability that alone rivals any ski area. Skiers
and snowboarders can spend a whole day just
exploring the front side and find gentle,
easy groomed terrain, steeps and Volkswagen
sized bumps on runs such as Highline.
Back Bowls: Vail isn't just blessed with
one, but seven Back Bowls. Vail's legendary
Back Bowls offer 2,724 acres of wide open
expansive terrain that is a "must ski"
on a powder day. Explore the tight trees
of OS in Sun Down Bowl or find solitude in
Inner and Outer Mongolia to the east of China
Bowl.
Vail offers guests an incomparable winter
vacation experience. As the largest single-mountain
ski area in North America, Vail offers guests
5,289 acres of skiable terrain found within
three distinct mountain experiences - the
front side, legendary Back Bowls™ and the
new Blue Sky Basin.

Snowboarding
Unrestricted parks with Superpipe and massive
terrain park. Pro and local riders alike
continuously praise the Vail Superpipe. A
variety of medium to larger jibs, rails and
hits are scattered throughout the park each
designed to flow into the next section. The
Jib Park is like a "park within the
park", enclosed in a glade of trees,
riders can spend a day sliding and hiking
all different kinds of rails and jibs. Bottom
line: These guys build terrain parks you'd
usually see in a video game.
Recent Improvements
More Grooming: Vail will increase the size
of its grooming fleet resulting in a substantial
increase in the amount of acreage groomed
every night.
New LionsHead Skier Bridge: The beautifully
designed bridge will be approximately 50
feet wide allowing for more space for skiers,
grooming capabilities, and a pedestrian lane
for year-round use.
New Two Elk Yurt: A yurt will be available
near Two Elk Restaurant providing seating
for children's Ski School, as well as picnic
lunches.
Phase II Golden Peak Snowmaking: A new snowmaking
line will be installed at Golden Peak, enabling
Vail to make more snow faster on the eastern
side of the mountain.
Dining
The skiing in Vail is legendary. But the
excitement and fun in Vail run deeper than
the powder. Whether looking for a night on
the town, a romantic dinner for two or a
place to entertain the younger generation,
Vail caters to anyone's palate and budget
with 73 restaurants and 16 bars.
Nightlife
After the Lifts Close, Vail comes to life
after the mountain closes. Check out the
après-ski scene in Vail Village featuring
live music, good food and a great atmosphere.
Grab a beer, hit the deck and watch everyone
come down the hill at the end of the day.
Or, do a little barhopping to all the late
night hot spots.
Lodging
The Vail Valley provides more than 150 lodging
options that can accommodate up to 40,000
visitors. Spacious hotels, quaint bed and
breakfast inns and comfortable homes and
condominiums provide something for everyone's
taste and budget. And the quality of lodging
continues to improve as properties are upgrading
and enhancing what they currently offer to
provide guests with more value for their
vacation dollars.
